At Open Doors for Multicultural Families (ODMF), community is more than who we serve; it’s our guiding light. Community is our north star, shaping every action we take and every decision we make. We don’t just aim to address the challenges of today; we strive to create a future that is more accessible, empathetic, and equitable for everyone.

Through collaboration, advocacy, and culturally responsive support, we walk alongside families to tackle systemic barriers and unlock possibilities. By centering the voices of those most impacted, we’re not only solving immediate needs but also laying the foundation for a more inclusive tomorrow, where systems are designed with everyone in mind and compassion leads the way.

I’m truly grateful to be a part of the Open Doors community. They have supported me in many meaningful ways, including helping me prepare for my son’s IEP meetings, providing the resources I requested, and inviting me to participate in the Open Doors for Multicultural Families (ODMF) Parent Support Group (PSG) and Community Café events. Their support has made a real difference in my journey as a parent

“They said I wouldn’t make it. But I did.” For most of my life, I was underestimated. Teachers told me I’d never succeed, never go to college. With the support of programs like Kickstart, P2G, and the Lead Collective, I found my purpose and my people. They didn’t just see potential in me, they helped me see it in myself.

Today, I’m a high school graduate, enrolled at Highline College, and working toward my dream of transferring to the University of Washington. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and I know this is only the beginning.
