Opportunities at ODMF:
Volunteer
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting our mission to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) from multicultural backgrounds. Whether you’re assisting with administrative tasks, directly supporting programs, or engaging with the community, your time and skills help us create a more inclusive and supportive world.
Donate In-Kind Goods
From time to time, Open Doors for Multicultural Families has in-kind needs to better support our programs and families. You can help by purchasing items directly from our Amazon Wishlist, ensuring that your generosity makes a direct impact. Please include your name and email address on the gift receipt so we know who to thank.
Internships
We are seeking passionate and community‑minded interns to support our mission of empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) and their families. Our internship program offers meaningful, hands‑on experience across several key areas of nonprofit work: including early learning, youth engagement, assistive technology, development and fundraising, family support, and economic stability programs. Interns will gain valuable skills in culturally responsive service delivery, community outreach, event coordination, research, and program support while working closely with diverse teams committed to equity and inclusion.
This in‑person internship runs three cycles a year, Fall/Winter/Summer with a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week at our Kent office. To learn more or apply, please contact Nisha at NishaR@opendoorswa.org with your resume and a cover letter describing your interests and the program area(s) you’d like to support. We look forward to welcoming interns who are eager to make a meaningful impact and grow alongside the communities we serve.
Join Our Board of Directors
Board members provide strategic guidance, champion equity and inclusion, and help drive fundraising and community engagement. Your leadership ensures that multicultural families and individuals with disabilities have the support and resources they need to thrive.
