Open Doors for Multicultural Families (ODMF) is entering a new chapter of growth and transformation. After 15 years of visionary leadership, our founder and longtime Executive Director, Ginger Kwan, is stepping into a new strategic role within the organization. Beginning on January 1st she will transition to serving as the Director of Public Policy and Community Engagement. Ginger’s legacy is one of deep commitment to equity, belonging, and disability inclusion—values that have shaped ODMF from a grassroots vision into a trusted, culturally responsive organization serving immigrant, refugee, and BIPOC families navigating disability.
Her leadership has been a guiding light, and while she transitions from her executive role, Ginger will continue to lead key initiatives, including the Multicultural Village (MCV) project, and support strategic efforts that strengthen our long-term vision.
We are also thrilled to welcome Nicole Barker as our Interim Executive Director. Nicole has been an integral part of ODMF’s leadership, serving as Deputy Director and previously leading our Youth and Adult Programs. Her approach is rooted in care, innovation, and deep community connection. Nicole brings a strong understanding of our mission and a shared commitment to co-creating solutions with community, for community.
This leadership transition is not a departure, it’s a reflection of growth. We are grateful to our community, partners, and supporters for walking this journey with us. The future of ODMF is bright, and we look forward to continuing this work together.
