Our Story

We were founded in 2009, by a dedicated group of parents and community advocates who saw that multicultural families needed access to disability related services to allow their loved ones with disabilities to live a quality life.

In 2009, Open Doors was founded by Ginger Kwan and a dedicated group of parents and community leaders who saw that multicultural families needed access to services that allowed their children with disabilities to live a quality life.

Open Doors has invested in and utilized a cultural brokerage model to help bridge the information and cultural gap between diverse families and the complex systems they need to access.

We have stayed true to the original vision. The programs and services that we provide today were envisioned and documented in the minutes of the first Board Meeting.
