Our staff are here to walk beside families, sharing their journey.
We are not teachers or authorities on what is happening in their lives.
We pair families 1:1 with a staff member who shares their language and culture. If there are no staff who speak a family’s language, we will provide a telephone interpreter.
Trusting relationships with families and a shared cultural context means we can act as a bridge between families and the services and support they need.
We pair an understanding of the family we work with and our expertise in the systems and programs that are available to them, to find the right solution for them.
We have programs from birth to adulthood that support individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families
Creating a safe and joyful space in our community for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, people of color, and low-income families
Supporting individuals and their families to advocate for change in the systems, policies, and laws that govern them
Expect great things from Mahad Dahir. Mahad ran for Vice President of the Associated Students of Highline College (ASHC) and won! He is not only the first person from the Highline Achieve Program, a program for students with disabilities, to serve on the ASHC…he now serves as President of ASHC!
During the Summer, the outdoors beckons us. This past summer, our Youth Team partnered with Outdoors for All to host a series of outdoor outings as a part of our Friendship Club program. Youth including Alice, pictured here with her mom, ventured into the outdoors.
“I am very happy to have your support. My son does enjoy Friendship Circle so much and always looks forward to signing on Zoom.”
