Advocacy trainings designed by and for multicultural and disability community members
We know that our clients - individuals with disabilities and their families - hold so much power.
When people can speak for themselves about policy and legal issues that directly impact them, those in power are more likely to listen.
That's why we've developed a series of training programs to guide those most affected by systems and policy to develop and express their personal stories.
This allows them to use their own voices and be advocates and leaders in the movements they believe in.
We run 3 programs:
Self-advocacy Leadership Training (SALT)
- For multicultural youth and young adults with disabilities
- Participants learn fundamental self-advocacy skills and how to use your voice to affect change
- Held once a year, usually in spring or early summer
- Stipends and technical assistance available to reduce barriers to participation
