Haruka has been serving on the ODMF Board of Directors since 2017. She is originally from Tokyo, Japan and came to the United States to attend Yale School of Management. After working on Wall Street over 10 years, she moved to Bellevue. Here she has volunteered in multiple roles in the Bellevue School District, most recently is a member of Equity Advisory and Advocacy Collaborative.
As an English Language Learner herself, she advocates for ELL and racially minority students in the school system. Haruka has been interpreting for IEP and 504 meetings for the Bellevue School District. She is a member of the city of Bellevue’s Bellevue Diversity Advisory Network which advises the City Manager.
