Alexandra has served on the ODMF Board of Directors since 2022. She immigrated to the United States from Spain. She currently works as a speech language pathologist at Kindering, an early support agency that serves children ages birth to three and their families. Alexandra is also the Commission on Hispanic Affairs representative for Washington state’s Early Learning Advisory Council, as well as a Personnel and Training committee member of Washington State’s Department of Children, Youth, and Families’ (DCYF) Interagency Coordinating Council (SICC).
In all of her roles, Alexandra is a fierce advocate for equitably serving culturally and linguistically diverse children and their families, particularly those from a Hispanic/Latino/Latinx background. Alexandra earned a Master of Science degree in Linguistics from the University of Alberta (Canada) and a Master of Arts in Speech Language Pathology from Indiana University - Bloomington.
Alexandra has two young children whom she is dedicated to raising bilingually and biculturally.
